Youth Ministries

Equipping The Next Generation

Our hope is to equip, encourage, and empower young people to love and live for Jesus. We do this by meeting students where they are and unfolding God’s story of redemption. We want to create a place where students feel they are known, loved, and challenged.

Youth Gatherings

Each week, we gather together as a large group to eat, play games, worship, and hear a message. We then head into discipleship groups – small groups separated by age and gender – to unpack the message together and pray for one another.

She was an active part of her youth group growing up and has many fond memories of her time being actively involved in youth ministries. Get to Know Us

Did you know that social researchers have found that youth who attend a youth group demonstrate the following positive-life outcomes compared to their non-religious peers: Increased physical health, a longer lifespan, more life satisfaction, better problem-solving skills, greater friendship support, an increased ability to cope with life’s problems, healthier family relationships, and reduced depression (youthministry.com).  Age-appropriate faith development can give our youth the tools for coping with an ever-stressful and constantly changing world. Haven’t we all shared concerns about the coping mechanisms and social skills of our kids? Oakfield Community Church sees the importance of youth ministry, and we know that healthy kids and youth help make healthy families and a healthy community.

It is for this reason that we have created "Rooted" Youth and Family Ministries. Not only do we, as a church, see the incredible value of youth ministy - we want to create an easy on-ramp for kids to experience church, in a fun and age-engaging way.

From 6:30-7:30 PM each Wednesday our Rooted Youth Group will meet in their newly revamped youth room. During this time, we'll build community and work to nurture the deep roots of faith necessary to create healthy kids. Our 6th - 12th graders will have everything from music to service to games and faith developing conferences. Over the last year we've built a strong foundation in our youth group that we plan to expand and deepen.
